What are Post-E-Notes?

Post-E-Notes are a simple way to build a web page. Web pages are built with Post-E-Notes which are like Virtual Sticky Notes (Post-E-Notes) which are then placed on a Virtual Desktop. Just as with sticky notes, the Post-E-Notes can be placed anywhere on the desktop and can be placed on top or underneath each other. The Post-E-Notes can contain: text, images, links, videos and music.

Can I embed Music & Videos?

Yes, the embed code can be entered into the HTML of a Note. For proper effect wmode="transparent" should be set in the embed code.

Can Post-E-Notes be moveable by a viewer of a Post-E-Notes Page?

Yes. The builder of the page has the option to set Post-E-Notes onto 3 different layers of the Virtual Desktop. If the Post-E-Notes are set as Moveable then they can be moved around the page by the viewer, however if the page is refreshed / reloaded the Post-E-Notes will return to their original position. By making Post-E-Notes moveable, the page owner can stack similar items together.

How do I set my Post-E-Notes page to be shareable?

When editing the page, click on the Menus Button then click on the Security/Description button which will allow you to set the page as public or public with password.

How do I restore a Post-E-Notes page to a previous version?

When editing the page, click on the Menus Button then click on the Restore button which will allow you to select from a list of previously saved versions by date. When the Restore version is selected, it will completely replace the current version.

How Many Post-E-Notes pages can I create?

Currently we are allowing our general users to be only able to create 1 page for their login. This page can be of any height or width but is limited in how much information can be stored on it. Assuming enough interest, it may be possible at a later date for a fee to have multiple pages.

Which Browsers does Post-E-Notes work with?

It has been tested to work with the following browsers. Older browsers may not work. Firefox also has some issues with the way it edit’s pages and we are hoping a new release of Firefox will fix that.

Can I link to my images on other web sites?

Yes. However we do not guarantee that as other Web Sites have the ability to terminate the connection.

How private is my uploaded picture?

Uploaded pictures are stored in an image directory associated with the userid. If someone guesses the image names, then they will be able to view your images by linking to your directory.

Can I do multiple Image Upload?

Currently that code is being developed but is not yet available.

What resolution are my uploaded images stored at?

All images are converted to a maximum of 640 x 480.

How do I resize my image or note on a page?

Holding down the shift key, click on the image and move your mouse.

Can I create a Post-E-Notes page without Adverts?

Currently adverts are our business model to pay for the site. Assuming enough interest, it may be possible at a later date for a fee to have advert free pages.

What is the long term plan for Post-E-Notes?

Post-E-Notes.com is in beta status, this means that we are trying out a concept in Web 2.0. If the concept takes off in terms of usage then the site will grow with new features and benefits. If it does not take off in terms of usage then its services may be ended.
